Engine Oil Cooler - Identification Instructions

If you cannot locate the six digit oil cooler part number, please refer to the below photo showing where to measure to determine which size oil cooler you have. Please be sure to only measure the radiator or "fin" portion of your oil-cooler, not the housing.

 

Continental Oil Cooler Measure Instructions

Additionally, we would want to check if your oil cooler has a vernatherm protruding from the baseplate like the one in the photo below. If it does have this vernatherm, it would be a "decongealing" type oil cooler. If it does not have this vernatherm on it, it would be a standard oil cooler.
